The family of Lloyd Francis Allaby is deeply saddened to announce his sudden yet peaceful passing on Saturday, December 18th, 2021 at his home.

Lloyd, B.T., B.Ed., M.Ed., was born October 10th, 1936 in Saint John, NB to Hazel M. (Mullin) and Lloyd T. Allaby.

Lloyd is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Ann (nee. Quartermain), son's Kenneth (Jennifer) and Gregory (Christine), grandchildren Andrew, Deidre (Joel), Jarika, Miranda, Brooklyn and Kolten, great granddaughters Kyla and Alice, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his brother, Philip and his son, Peter (Krista).

After graduation from Saint John High School in 1954, Lloyd attended the New Brunswick Teacher's College. He graduated in 1958 and then had a successful career as a school teacher and 30-years as principal in both Fredericton and Woodstock.

Lloyd was highly involved in his community. He served on many boards including the NBTA and NBTF Board of Directors, the L.P. Fisher Library Board, the Carleton Memorial Hospital Foundation and the Region 3 Hospital Board. He served as Deputy Mayor of Woodstock for three years and as Councillor for an additional three years.

Lloyd was a lifelong learner, enjoyed reading a good book and found immense joy in spending time with his great-granddaughters, Kyla and Alice.

There will be a private funeral service held at Culberson's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Shirley Noseworthy officiating assisted by Rev. Walter Williams. There will be no visitation at Lloyd's request. Interment will be at the St. Stephen Rural Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the L.P. Fisher Library or to a charity of the donor's choice.
