Ruth A. (Centko) Morris, 84, of Streator passed away Saturday, December 18, 2021 at her residence.

A visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Monday, December 27, 2021 at Hagi & Schultz Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited at 6:30 PM. An additional visitation will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 AM prior to services Tuesday (December 28, 2021) at the funeral home. A memorial service will be at 11:30 AM Tuesday, at the funeral home with Deacon Robb Caputo officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Ruth was born February 9, 1937 in Streator, a daughter of George Leo and Frances M. (Foltin) Centko. She married Robert Ray Morris on November 22, 1956 at St. Stephen's Church, Streator. He preceded her in death on April 13, 1997.

Surviving are her children: Robert (Fran) Morris, Scott (Deborah) Morris of Streator, Lori Morris of Streator, Amy (Tim) Watson of Huntsville, TX and Jennifer (Dave) Hardin of Streator; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. Also surviving two sisters: Germaine Knudsen of Pontiac and Karen Karkless of Streator.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Robert; three brothers: Jerome, Gerald and George Centko; and a sister: Janette Hancin.

Ruth was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Parish, formerly St. Stephen's Church.

She was very active with the American Red Cross. She was a former Red Cross Chairperson and was awarded the Red Cross Tiffany Award. She was a First Responder for the Red Cross and initiated disaster relief for the Dana Tornado. She had also been on the FEMA board for ADV.

Ruth and her husband, Robert owned and operated Morris Retirement Manor and the former Katchewan Lakes Resort. She eventually retired from Camelot Manor Nursing Home. She had ben awarded the Business Professional Woman of the Year and was honored as a "Special" person by Camelot Manor.

Ruth enjoyed gardening, sewing, painting, and spending time with her parrot, Rico.
