Carol Marie Herold, 80, previously of 5506 Old Highway Trunk Q, Manitowoc, died on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at The Heritage Woods Assisted Living, Appleton.

Carol was born on April 27, 1941 in the town of Franklin, Kewaunee County, the daughter of the late Raymond and Agnes (Valenta) Duckart. She graduated with the class of 1959 from Denmark High School. On November 26, 1960 Carol married Wayne Herold at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tisch Mills. He preceded her in death on November 16, 2010. She worked at Hamilton's, Mirro Aluminum Company, as a housekeeper and a full-time mom.

Carol was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish and the Happy Hoppers. She loved to polka, going to dances, camping, gardening, her flowers, and feeding the outdoor birds. She was a wonderful baker making kolaches, Belgium pies, bread, buns and desserts. Carol enjoyed sewing. She sewed the baptismal gown which all her grandchildren wore on their sacramental day. She was a devote Catholic going to Mass, prayer group and making rosaries. She enjoyed making green and gold (Packer colored) rosaries. Above all, her greatest joy was spending time with her children.

Survivors include four children and their spouses: Denise (Timothy) Reitmeyer, Appleton, Susan (Thomas) Trainor, De Pere, Lisa (Richard Jr.) Heyse, Pittsburgh, PA, and Keith Herold, Green Bay; eight grandchildren: William Reitmeyer, Appleton, Melissa (Dan) Ottesen, Mishicot, Michael Trainor, Chicago, IL and his special friend, Abby Paynter, Paul Heyse, Chicago, IL, Rachel Heyse, Dallas, TX, Preston Heyse, Pittsburgh, PA, Bennett and Owen Herold, Green Bay; one great-granddaughter, Josie Ottesen; three brothers: Edwin (Donna) Duckart, Maribel, Ronald (Joan) Duckart, Denmark, Richard (Donna) Duckart, Denmark; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law: S. Lewellyn Herold, Camby, IN, Darlene Parma, Tisch Mills, many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Raymond and Agnes (Valenta) Duckart; her husband: Wayne Herold; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Sylvester and Leona (Ledvina) Herold; three sisters and brothers-in-law: LaVerne (Duckart) Jorgenson, Lorraine (Duckart) Parma, Joyce (Duckart) Cherney; two sisters-in-law: Janice Mae Herold, Gayle Herold; three brothers-in-law: Harvey Jorgenson, Sylvester Parma, LeRoy Cherney; one son-in-law: Charles Cisler.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo, 1121 North 14th Street, Manitowoc. The Rev. Ben Johnson will celebrate the Mass of Christian burial with entombment at Knollwood Mausoleum in the town of Kossuth. Relatives and friends may call at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, 818 State Street, Manitowoc on Wednesday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again at the church on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass at 11:00 AM. There will be a parish prayer service at the funeral home at 6:30 PM on Wednesday.
