From The Times-News (Twin Falls, ID) - Wednesday, November 29, 1967:

RUPERT - John Albert Kendall, 54, Burley, died early Wednesday morning at the Amalgamated Sugar Co. factory at Paul. According to the superintendent of the factory, Mr. Kendall fell into a 10-foot hopper in which beets are washed. Mr. Kendall was immediately pulled from the flume which also carries beets. (From December 1: The autopsy report showed a "brain concussion with damage to the base of the skull as a result of the fall.")


Mr. Kendall was born November 26, 1913 in Rawlins, Wyoming. On September 3, 1938 he married Edith Ivy Homes at Shelley. He was a farm laborer and had worked at Shelley and Rupert areas sine his marriage.


Survivors include his widow, Burley; one son, John (Lonnie) Kendall, one daughter, Margaret Kendall, both Burley; two sisters, Ruth Smuin, Terreton, and Amelia Smuin, Mud Lake, Idaho; two grandchildren.

Friday, December 1, 1967:


Funeral services for John Albert Kendall will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Third Ward LDS Chapel, Burley, by Bishop Hiram Andrews. Final rites will be held in Riverside Cemetery, Heyburn.
