Obituary of Jane Olsen
Jane Olsen, age 96 of Maplewood, Minnesota, died on August 26, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Jane M. Imsdahl was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota to Alfred & Jonetta Imsdahl on December 31st, 1924.
She grew up on the Eastside of Saint Paul and graduated from Johnson High School. After high school she began her 50-year career as a bookkeeper. Her long career included working from home while raising her family, and then began working outside the home for the family accounting firm.
Jane was a talented knitter and seamstress and enjoyed many other crafts throughout her life. Christmas was a particularly special time of year for her when her home was filled with special decorations and baked goods. Her greatest joy came from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Claire, Arnold, Allen and Laverne.
Jane is survived by her husband of 72 years, Roger; and will be forever missed by her children, Thomas (Jeneal) Olsen, Sally (Barry) Peters, and Kristin (Don) Olsen; grandchildren, Kathryn (Josh) Retka, Sara (Kris) Hjelmeland, Eric (Katie) Olsen, Andy (Kim) Peters, and Kristin (Joe) Spencer; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Celebration of Jane's life was held at Anderson Funeral Home, 1401 Arcade Street (Hwy 61), Saint Paul, Minnesota.
Many, many thanks to the staff and hospice staff at Ecumen Seasons at Maplewood for the care and friendship given to Jane in the past two years.
