Mr. John A. Stafford, who was one of Stowe's most honored citizens died early Friday morning after an illness of some months of brights disease.
Mr. Stafford was a civil war veteran, a prominent Mason and had been in business in this town for several years. Funeral services were held in
the Universalist church Sunday afternoon, Mrs. Paul of Morrisville, Vermont, speaking assisted by Rev. Dr. Booth of Morrisville, Vermont and Rev. Clarence P. Emery of Stowe, Vermont. Interment was at Riverbank cemetery.
