Inez Gosney Winstead, 90, of Proctor Street, died Friday, Dec. 21, 2007, in a Suffolk hospital. A native of South Boston, Va., she was a retired sales clerk at Ballard and Smith Department Store, a member of Oxford United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Junto Women's Club and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Benevolent Protective Order of the Elks of Suffolk and was an avid golfer and bridge player. Inez was also an accomplished artist. Survivors include three children, Patricia Outland and husband Leonard, Jennifer Bradshaw and husband Dwight and Kemper Winstead and wife Mary, all of Suffolk; one sister, Lois Newman, and one brother, Grayson Gosney, both of South Boston; six grandchildren, Trip Outland and wife Beth, John Outland and wife Kim, Patty Mizelle and husband Barry, Robbie Bradshaw and wife Megan, Arthur Bradshaw and wife Brenda and Kemp Winstead and fiancee Melissa; seven great-grandchildren, Brittany and Leo Outland, Parker and Sarah Outland and Tyler, Brooke and Ian Mizelle and many nieces and nephews. A funeral will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Oxford United Methodist Church by the Rev. Edward Johnson. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Bennetts Creek Chapel, today from 6 to 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Suffolk Chapter or Oxford United Methodist Church, 601 W. Washington St., Suffolk, VA 23434.
