He retired in 1961 as president of Jamieson, Inc., institution suppliers, 1006 Michigan av., and formerly had taught speech, English, and dramatics at St. Edwards college, Austin, Tex., and St. Thomas college, St. Paul, Minn.
Surviving are his widow, Ella; four daughters, Mrs. Marguerite Hinz, Mrs. Ella Ryan, Mrs. Anne Walsh, and Mrs. Mary Jane Walz; four sons, Edward S., William D., Robert, and R. Alan; 23 grandchildren; and a sister.
