Laura A. Mauk
Funeral services are pending for Laura A. Mauk, 89, who died in a local hospital early Monday following a long period of ill health.
A native of Illinois, she came to Oklahoma at the opening of the Cherokee Strip, settling southwest of Hillsdale.
Grandsons will be pallbearers.
She and her husband moved to North Enid where he was owner of a dairy business. Mrs. Mauk moved into Enid 10 years ago where she made her home until death.
Her husband, William Homer, and one daughter preceded her in death.
She was a charter member of the North Enid Thrift Club and a member of the Congregational Church of Hillsdale.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Carl Romine, Enid; Mrs. Leora Green, Hillsdale; and Mrs. Vernon Bull, Wichita, Kan.; five sons, E. P. Mauk, Albany, Mo.; Clarence, J. A. and Dale, all of Enid; and Harry, Milton-Freewater, Ore.
Also 23 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Henninger-Allen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
