Born May 16, 1945, in Halifax, PA. He was the son of G. Virginia Miller Bower, and the late John Henry Bower. He was the husband of Judy Wasco Bower.
He resided in Long Valley, NJ for 21 years, coming from Somerville, NJ. He was the proprietor of DB Consulting, Long Valley, NJ; previously he was employed as a Pharmaceutical Chemist for the former Hoechst Marion Roussel, Bridgewater, NJ (now known as Aventis Pharmaceuticals), retiring in 2000. He was a member of the American Legion Post, Halifax, PA; served on the Washington Township Recycling Committee, Current President of Washington Township Senior Citizens Advisory Committee; member of American Chemical Society; member of Society of Plastics Engineers (also past President); published articles in several chemical publications, received 2 patents; received a B.S. from Bucknell University in 1967; MS from University of Rochester in 1970; PhD from University of Rochester in 1974. He served during the Vietnam War in the US Army, stationed at Walter Reed Army Institute of Research.
Surviving are his wife: Judy Wasco Bower, at home; 1 Son: Jeffrey Bower, Burlington, NJ; 2 Daughters: Christine Mann, Mt. Tabor, NJ; and Michelle Meyer, Clinton, NJ; 3 Grandchildren: Maia, Christian, and Heather; his Mother: G. Virginia Miller Bower, Halifax, PA; 4 Brothers: Ronald Bower, Gettysburg, PA; Robert Bower, Halifax, PA; James Bower, Elizabethville, PA; and Michael Bower, Halifax, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 5, at 12: 00PM in St. John Neuman, Califon, NJ. Interment Fairmount Cemetery, Fairmount, NJ.
Friends may call at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ, Thursday, April 4, 2002, from 2PM - 4PM, and 6PM - 8PM.
