The funeral service for Egidi J. Roehrich, 80, Strasburg, ND, will be held at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Strasburg, ND, with Rev. Leonard Eckroth officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation at Myers Funeral Home.
Egidi J. Roehrich was born on a farm west of Strasburg, ND, the son of Joe and Irene (Bachmeier) Roehrich. He attended country school through the 8th grade.
He was united in marriage to Lydia Ternes on June 16, 1948 at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Krassna, ND. They made their home on a farm west of Strasburg where they raised their 13 children. In 1979 they built a new home and moved into Strasburg, ND. Egidi continued to farm with his son, Ernie, for several years. He served on the Winona School District Board for many years and Emmons Central High School Board for six years. He was very active and took great pride in serving as a member of the Strasburg Knights of Columbus. He served his community for many years on the county ASCS Board and Emmons County Weed Board. Egidi served four years on the Strasburg City Council and served eight years as the Mayor of Strasburg. He enjoyed playing accordion and listening to old-time music. Egidi had a strong work ethic and was always willing to help a neighbor or friend in need with his many talents, never asking anything in return. He devoted his life to his family and friends and they will dearly miss him.
Egidi died on Sunday, December 9, 2007 and is now at peace with his Father in Heaven.

Egidi was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Jake, John and Joe and three sisters: Regina, Eva and Cecelia.
Egidi will be remembered for his faith, generosity, humor and love of family and life, which stayed with him until the end.
