MRS. LIZZIE M. HUDSON - Daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Luck Donald, was born June 30, 1910 in Thomasville, AL. Prior to her death she resided in Lodi, California, since 1978.
She received an early education in the public schools of Wilcox County and higher education at Alabama State University, Montgomery, Alabama. She was converted at an early age and was a faithful church worker while growing up in Thomasville. On August 8, 1933, she was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Henry Willis Hudson. To this union was born one daughter, Mildred. Her two sisters pre-deceased her. In 1941, she moved to Mobile and became affiliated with the Antioch Baptist Church where she served in many capacities related to Christian Education. She assisted her husband while he served as Sunday School Superintendent for more than 30 years.
Mrs. Hudson is survived by a devoted daughter, Mrs. Mildred H. Chambers; a son-in-law, Elliott R. Chambers; three grandsons; one sister in law, Mrs. Ida Lucy of Prichard, AL; four brothers-in-law, Eli and Dudley Hudson of Mobile, Nathaniel Hudson of Los Angeles, CA, and Joe King of Prichard, AL, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation at Reese Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 12, 1992, after 5 p.m. Funeral services will be held from the Antioch Baptist Church, 350 Chandler Street, Prichard, AL, on Thursday, August 13, 1992, at 11 a.m. with Dr. Lemuel Taylor officiating. Rev. James Robinson, pastor. Interment will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery. Arrangements by Reese Funeral Home, 925 Bessemer Ave. Prichard, Alabama.
