Susan Francesca Steiner (nee Rowat)

CINCINNATI - Born January 2, 1959 in Cincinnati. Died peacefully early in the morning of December 27, 2021 in Cincinnati. Dementia, first diagnosed in October of 2015, prevented Susan from reaching her 63rd birthday. Predeceased by her father, Dr. Edward A. Rowat. Survived by her mother, Marlene B. Johnson, her husband of 33 years, Edward E. Steiner, her brother, Mark A. Rowat (Stephanie) and two nieces. Susan was a graduate of Sweet Briar College and earned an MBA at Xavier University. She had a series of successful mini-careers, beginning in bank payment systems with Fifth Third, then as co-owner of Maller's Gourmet in Madeira with her dear friend, Gerry Knable, and finally as an investment advisor, first with her friends and valued colleagues at Queen City Financial Advisors and then as an independent RIA. Good friends learned of Susan's quietly wicked sense of humor. She also had a deep intuitive connection with animals of all kinds, dogs, cats, horses, and deer among them. A good cook with a good knowledge of wine and an adept photographer, Susan loved to travel to the European Alps, particularly German-speaking Italy. She also enjoyed travel to visit family in small-town Wisconsin. Private cremation. A celebration of Susan's life will be convened in early 2022 in Cincinnati (details to follow). In lieu of flowers, donations to any of the organizations working on a cure for dementia would be appreciated.
