Reva Darlene Mummey was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a friend to all. Heaven rejoiced and welcomed her Tuesday the 28th of December, 2021. She was born to Dean and Ina Ray Hancher, October 7, 1928 and was a sister to Ruth Smith, Rita Parmiter and brother, Donald, all deceased.

At an early age she taught herself to play the piano, the organ and the guitar. She loved and enjoyed playing and listening to music.

She married her husband Francis E. Mummey, October 16, 1949 and together they had 6 children. They were devoted to each other for 72 years and had just celebrated their anniversary. Their children include deceased daughter, Krista Annette Mummey; Marla Mummey, her son John Robert; Carla Darling, her husband Bill, and son James Zachary Barkhurst; Gary Mummey and his daughters, Heather Rutter, husband Jimmy, their kids Lexie Weaver(Brady), daughter, Araya and Hallee and Jymma Rutter; Heath Mummey, children, Caden, Carson, and Madison; Heidi Kidd (Todd) children, Makayla and Mackenzie; Jeff Mummey (deceased) and his daughters, Cassie Skinner (Brandon) daughters, Sydney and Taytum and Kacy Mummey, daughters, Stella Kay and Wrenley Ray; Kim Bragg (Tim), sons Derek Bragg (Nicci), daughters Sophie and Emma and son Cody Bragg. Their family included 6 children, 9 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

After raising her family, Reva began a 30 year plus career as Morgan County's Deputy Auditor.

She also at one time was very involved in the Morgan County Women's Republican Club and served in several capacities including local President. Reva loved her flowers and so enjoyed watching and feeding the birds. She also was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan and loved supporting her grandkids in sports.

But, most of all she dedicated, devoted her life to her husband she dearly loved and her family. For over 60 years she cooked Sunday dinner for up to 30-40 people at their home. She was an excellent cook and never turned anyone away from their table.

Reva was a devoted Christian woman serving her church as organist, pianist for more than 50 plus years. She also served as treasurer for many years and Sunday School teacher as well as a Lay Speaker.

She was a beautiful, loving, humble, yet opinionated woman who we will all dearly miss but we will cherish her memory and mentor the lifegiving gifts she taught us. Heaven rejoices and we grieve with thankfulness.

Services will be Friday, December 31, 2021 at 1 pm. Matheney Funeral Home McConnelsville. Friends may call from 11 am to 1 pm the day of the service. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. To send a note of condolence to the family go to www.matheneyfh.com.
