Michael Chever was born November 23, 1942, to Nishel and Dorothy Margaret (Sutherland) Chever in Columbus, Ohio. At the age of 78, from natural causes, he passed away on June 5, 2021, at his residence in Columbus, Ohio.

Michael attended North High School in Columbus and starred both on the football team and in track and field. After high school he enlisted in the United States Air Force. The Air Force took him to many places around the globe including North Africa and England.

Upon returning to the States, Michael once again concentrated on his education. He received his undergrad degree from Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio and then his Law degree from Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio.

Michael spent years working in the legal field, battered women's shelters, and as a civilian training the military in life support at Rickenbacker Air Force Base, Wright Patterson Air Force Base, and Maxwell Air Force Base along with his time in the Air Force Reserves.

His hobbies included the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Yankees, and LSU football, Harley Davidson motorcycles, along with a keen interest in luxury automobiles from an early age. He also enjoyed reading along with spending time with his family and friends

Preceded in death by his parents Nishel and Dorothy Chever and his nephew, Jamal Whitaker.

Michael is survived by his children, daughter, Theresa O'Shea of Temple, Texas; sons, Christian Chever, Nathan Chever, both of Dayton, Ohio, and Jared Yates of Orange County, California; along with his siblings, sister Jacquelin Holland of Powell, Ohio; brother, Joseph Chever of Columbus; sister Lynda Chever of Columbus, brother, William Chever of Hayward, California, sister Jodelle Chever of Columbus; also many nieces and nephews that he adored.

A private military gathering will be held later this year to celebrate his wonderful spirit, joy, and talents that will surely be missed by all that knew him.
