A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best. Michael B. Fischer, age 76, of Cato, passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 30th, 2021 at his home, while doing what he loved, working on his tractor.

Michael was born October 15, 1945 in Manitowoc, son of Daniel and Marie (Hastreiter) Fischer. He was a graduate of Valders High School with the class of 1964. Michael was United in marriage to Susan E. (Wolf) Fischer on September 7th, 1968 in Clarks Mills. Michael served his country and state faithfully as a member of the Wisconsin National Guard and was a lifelong farmer with his father Daniel in Cato. Michael was a longtime member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church of Clarks Mills, where he was an usher. He loved animals and was a wonderful son, brother, uncle, and friend.

Survivors include five sisters and brothers-in-law: Charlotte (Tony) Schambureck, Valders; Mary (Joe) Getsfried, Kaukauna; Barbara (Gary) Hopfensperger, Wild Rose; Kathleen (Paul) Sattler, Larrabee; Susan (Peter) Popp, St. Nazianz; 11 nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Michael was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his brother, Paul Fischer; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harvey and Anita (Goldbeck) Wolf.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 10, 2022 at St Mary's Catholic Church, 15 County Rd J, Reedsville (Clarks Mills), WI. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Richard Klingeisen. Michael will be laid to rest at Knollwood Memorial Park, Town of Kossuth, at a later time.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St Mary's Catholic Church from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Monday, January 10, 2022.
