A gathering of friends in celebration of John's life will take place at the Wall Street Grill, 901 Buffalo St., Manitowoc, on Wednesday, Dec. 26, from 4 to 6 p.m.
John was born on July 15, 1940, in Los Angeles, Calif. He was the son of the late Gordon Bruce and Vivian Maxine Plunkett Reade.
After graduating from high school in California, John enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. After being honorably discharged, he became employed as a police officer with the city of Los Angeles Police Department.
He later became involved with the motion picture industry in the Los Angeles area where he was the director of transportation with Walt Disney Productions from where he retired. In 1999, John moved to Manitowoc where he was the apartment manager for the Benley Apartments until the present time.
He is survived by one brother: Ben B. Reade, New Mexico, along with other relatives and friends both in the Los Angeles and Manitowoc area.
