Actress and pin-up model. Originally a music teacher, she was crowned Miss Washington, but was disqualified from the Miss America pageant because of her marriage to veterinarian Carl Bergquist. She began her Hollywood career in the late 1940s as an Earl Carroll showgirl, appearing nightly at Carroll's restaurant on Sunset Boulevard. In 1951, she became a spokesmodel for Noxzema, appearing in national newspaper ads. Throughout the 50s, she was featured as a post-WWII pin-up model in dozens of magazines of the day, including Autosport, Stag, Joy, Rogue, Sir!, and Breezy. In 1954 Harrison was crowned "Miss Calendar Girl of 1954" by the Specialty Advertising National Association in Chicago. She also ventured into films and television, most notably recurring roles on "Gunsmoke" and "Sea Hunt" with Lloyd Bridges. In 1962, she divorced Bergquist and briefly married racecar driver Carroll Shelby in Tijuana, but quickly annulled the marriage and remarried Bergquist that same year. Aside from organizing an Earl Carroll girls reunion dinner party in Los Angeles, Harrison retired from the spotlight after the early 1960s.
