Alfred is my Great Uncle.

Son of Alfred Thomas Kirby and Elizabeth Stroud. He has 5 brothers. Born at 17 Alfred Road, South Norwood, Surrey.

1891 Census: Alfred was living with his parents at 45 Harrington Road, Croydon, Surrey.

1901 Census: Living with parents at 14 Wortley Road, Croydon, Surrey.

1911 Census: Alfred was at Fort Ricasoli Malta. Overseas Military. Rank: Gunner - Military Unit: No 99 Company Royal Garrison Artillery.

On March 26th 1916 Alfred married Florence Kensett at Saint Stephen's Church in Lewisham. Alfred's occupation: Sergeant Soldier.

In early 1917 their son Alfred Kirby was born.

1921 Census: Alfred's occupation: Police Constable. Living with wife and son at 42 Mall Road, Lewisham.

1939 Register: Alfred living with wife at 6 Ladycroft Road, Lewisham - Occupation: Police Officer.

On the 7th of February 1952 Alfred passed away at Lambeth Hospital. Cremated at Honor Oak Crematorium (Southwark) - Ashes scattered under Rose Tree 29.

Probate: 28 April 1952 - Wife Florence inherited £2382 19s 1d.
