Wayne was the 6th child born to Moses and Pauline Norris. On December 24,1963, he entered the Tupelo Hospital. He was only 16 years of age, but was soon diagnosed with cancer of the liver. He never left the hospital and died February 7, 1964. His heath was quite a shock to his family, church family at Calvary Baptist Church, his Boy Scout friends, and members of the sophomore class at Tupelo High School.

He was survived by his parents; 2 sisters, Ruth McDonald and Dot Donald; 4 brothers - Robert W. Norris, James Gilbert Norris, David L Norris and John Norris; a host of nieces and nephews and his many friends.

Brother W. L. Day, long time Pastor of Calvary Church, preached Wayne's funeral with burialo ijn the Verona Cemetery.
