She will be dearly missed by her children, Brenda Weller, fiancee of John Cipollone of Fleetwood and Mark Fegley of Blandon, her granddaughters, Laura Walizer, wife of Seth, and Leslie Kemmerer, fiancée of Gerald Bogert, all of Fleetwood. She is also survived by her greatgrandchildren: Kate, Maddie, and Emma Walizer, and her sister-in-law, Cheryle Baer. In addition to her beloved husband and parents, Jean was preceded in death by four siblings: Lillian Coppola, Charles Baer, Suzanne Reed, and Ruthann Willis.
She graduated from Fleetwood High School in 1944 and went on to attend Kutztown State Teachers College, graduating in 1949. Jean taught 2nd grade for Fleetwood School District for 33 years. Her dedication to educating young minds made her a pillar of the community.
Jean loved spending time at the beach at Stone Harbor, watching the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team with her son Mark and her late husband Les. She was an avid reader and bird watcher. In her later years, she enjoyed playing her piano up until her final days.
Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of all the students she taught and people who knew her. Her wisdom and wit will forever be remembered for those who knew her. She always said, "Don't regret growing old, it's a privilege denied to many." As Jean would say, "This getting old isn't for sissies."
A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at 11:00am at St. Paul UCC located at 5 W. Arch St. Fleetwood, PA 19522. Guests will be welcomed for a time of viewing starting at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Fleetwood Cemetery.
