Von Bressler, age 83, of Fremont, Indiana, passed away Friday, January 17, 2014, at his home, with his family by his side.
He was born on January 25, 1930 in Auburn, Indiana, the son of Charles and Mildred (Baker) Bressler, they preceded him in death. Von married Peggy Joyce Taylor, and she survives.

After graduating from Fremont High School, Von served in the United States Navy, and was a veteran of the Korean War.
After his service in the navy, he became the owner of the Gambles Store in Butler, Indiana, he later sold his business and went on to work for the Marshall Clothing Company in Butler. From there, he was able to pick up different companies to represent for sporting goods lines and team apparel and athletics. After retirement from being a manufacturers representative, he became a school board member for the Fremont Community Schools, and later was elected a Steuben County Commissioner. After his term, he and Peggy moved to LaBelle, Florida, and he became a planning and zoning commissioner for Hendry County, Florida and lived there for ten years, before returning permanently to Fremont.

His survivors include, his wife, Peggy Joyce Bressler, Fremont, Indiana, his two sons, Chris (Teresa) Bressler, Fremont, Indiana, and Doug (Sherry) Bressler, Fremont, Indiana, four grandchildren, Manda (Kristopher) Kleeberg, Hudson, Indiana, Breanna (Brandon) Derrow, Leo, Indiana, Angelina (Matt) Goings, Fremont, Indiana, and Steven Bressler, Fremont, Indiana, four great-grandchildren, and three step-great-grandchildren, a sister, LaMoine Bledsoe, Lake James, Angola, Indiana, and two brothers, Max (Karen) Bressler, Decatur, Indiana, and LaVern Bressler, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Lefty Bressler. According to his wishes, there will be no services. Memorials are requested to Cameron Hospice or to the donor's choice.
