Joyce A. Ayotte, age 87, a Manitowoc resident, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, January 7, 2022 at her home.

Joyce was born on July 25, 1934 in Whitelaw, daughter of the late Alfons and Vlasta (Ludvina) Zipperer. On March 31, 1951 she married Arthur J. Ayotte at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Whitelaw. He preceded her in death on May 24, 2003. She started her own business, Flowers By Joyce, in 1979 and retired in 1997. Joyce was a volunteer at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center and was a member of the Manitowoc Lions Club, serving as past president and secretary. Her and Arthur were active former members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and she was a current member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Parish. She was known as "Grandma Joyce" to many little ones other than her own grandchildren.

Survivors include four sons: Al Ayotte, Manitowoc, Tom (Cory) Ayotte, Valders, Randy (Cindy) Ayotte, Manitowoc, Mike (Kathy) Ayotte, Manitowoc; three daughters: Carrie Polzin (special friend Robert Shedivy), Manitowoc, Peggy (Lee) Glaeser, Newton, Vicki Ayotte, Two Rivers; one daughter-in-law: Bobbie Jo (Duane) Leggette, Menasha; 16 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; one brother: Robert (Nancy) Zipperer, Manitowoc; four sisters: Audrey Larson, Valders, Janet Christal, St. Nazianz, Nancy Alexander, Green Bay, Jane (Pat) Stedl, Green Bay; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Audrey Behnke, Manitowoc, John (Kathy) Fischer, Manitowoc, Ginger (Ralph) Wagner. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son: Todd Ayotte; one daughter-in-law: Kathryn Ayotte; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Arnold and Margaret Fischer; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Ken Larson, Ron Christal, Bob Alexander, Dolly (Earl) Kasbaum, Fritz Behnke and Jenny (Frank) Flemal.

Cremation has taken place at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, and funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand (1416 Grand Ave.), Manitowoc, with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand, Manitowoc, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Joyce's name to the Manitowoc Lions Club.
