Smyrna, TN resident and Ware County, GA native Winnifred Baumgartner, age 87, was born May 9, 1934 and died January 9, 2022 at her residence following an extended illness.
A retired seamstress with Levi's and a member of the Redemption House Church of God of Prophecy in Lavergne, TN, she was the daughter of the late Wiliford and Inez Sweat Bennett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by son, Alan Potts; daughter, Lucretia Dolzonek; sisters, Faye Witt, Nell Johns, and Colleen Bennett; and brother, Bud Bennett.
Mrs. Baumgartner is survived by husband, Richard Slatten of Smyrna, TN; children and spouses, Valerie (James) Feagle of Florida, Dorene (Steve) Cowans of Morrison, TN, Dellis Potts of Woodbury, TN, and Vanessa (Bob) Rigsby of McMinnville, TN; sixteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and great-great- grandchildren; sisters, Vivian Bennett and Beverly Spikes, both of Georgia; brothers, Roger (Janice) Bennett and Calvin (Dorris) Bennett, both of Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 14, 2022 at Mt. Green Church of God of Prophecy in Millwood, GA with Pastor Chester Musgrove officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at High Funeral Home and Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Music Funeral Home in Waycross, GA.
