"Prominent Ex-Cotton Man R.P. Felder, Dies at 75 - R.P. Felder, 75, a nationally known retired Dallas cotton merchant and a cofounder of the W.D. Felder & Company firm of cotton merchants in Dallas, died Monday in a Dallas hospital following an illness of several weeks. He lived at 3712 Miramar.
Felder was born July 3, 1881, at Leesburg, Camp County, the son of the late Dr. and Mrs. J.L. Felder. He attended public schools at Glen Rose and Cleburne.
He was a retired vice-president of the W.D. Felder & Company, cotton merchants, which he and his two late brothers, W.D. Felder and Lamar Felder, founded.
He was a Methodist.
Felder, a bachelor, was survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was an active outdoorsman and a member of the Little Sand Hunting & Fishing Club, the Koon Kreek Klub and the Lancaster Hunting & Fishing Club.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Sparkman-Brand Funeral Chapel, 2115 Ross, with the Rev. Edward Tate, rector of the Episcopal Church of the Incarnation, officiating. Burial will be in Grove Hill Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be J.R. Allen, Marc Anthony, Q.B. Curby, Lee Fowler, V.W. Fuller, L.P. Grinnan Sr., Dr. Donald W. Munsell and Fla Lewis, all of Dallas, and C.A. Milam Jr. of Glen Rose.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Dallas Cotton Exchange."
