Obituary: "John F. Swenson. John F. Swenson, aged 41, Payne, Minn., died at a local hospital yesterday. Mr. Swenson was born in Duluth and for the last ten years was employed as a trackman for the D.M.&N. railway, residing at Payne. He is survived by his wife; four daughters, Virginia, Violet, Ruby and Betty Jane; two sons, William and John Jr., his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Swenson, Lake Nebagamon, Wis.; three sisters, Mrs. R.C. Stephenson, Duluth, Mrs. Peter Burtness, Cook, and Mrs. David Kyell [Kjell], Iron Mountain; three brothers, Alvin, Lake Nebagamon, and Edward and Charles, Payne." (Duluth News Tribune, 18 November 1933, page 6).

Death notice: "Swenson - John F., age 41, Payne, Minn., passed away at a local hospital Nov. 16. Funeral services Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Bell Brothers Funeral Home, the Rev. Carl O. Swan officiating. Interment, Oneota cemetery." (Duluth Herald, 17 November 1933, page 29).
