Annie Laura "Ann" Albritton Devane went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, January 13, 2022.

She was born in Rupert, Georgia on October 14, 1933, the daughter of Henry Greely Albritton and Mamie Chale Johnson Albritton Morgan.

Ann and Jim were married on November 27, 1951 in Ideal, Georgia. They were the parents of three children, two sons, Randy (Donna) and Jimmy, and one daughter, Wanda. They have four grandchildren, Jason Cranford (Jennifer), Justin Cranford, April Davis (Taylor), and Ashley Cardwell (Alan), seven great grandchildren, Thomas Cranford, Savannah Harbin, McKenize Davis, Madison Davis, Ada Ruby Cardwell, Annie Cardwell, and Ashlin Cardwell; and one great-great grandson, Noah Donaldson.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Loree Lee Beasley; and brothers, James and Millard.

Ann was a stay-at-home mom until the children finished school and left home. She was an excellent cook who was famous for her fried chicken meals as well as her chicken and dressing. Cooking was her passion. When she was finished with housework, Ann would often go outside to help her husband around the yard. Her favorite hobby was gardening.

Ann was always there for her husband and her children. If it was in her power, there was nothing she wouldn't do for them. During her husband's 40 year civil service career, he was away from home often. Ann would take care of everything while he was gone. She was a Godsend during those times and the family would have been lost without her.

After the children left home, Ann started working at Northside Middle School as a food service assistant. She retired with 27 years of service at Northside Middle School and was given special recognition for her loyalty, service, and commitment to the children of NMS.

Ann has been a faithful member of Second Baptist Church since 1956. She served in the preschool ministry, keeping the newborn babies for 55 years, from 1957 to 2012. She has watched many, many of those babies grow up to be men and women in the church. Second Baptist Church presented her a certificate for her faithful years of service in the preschool ministry. She loved her Lord and Savior and she loved her church. Her favorite Bible verse was John 3:16. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 17, 2022 at McCullough Funeral Home. Ann's service will be held immediately following visitation at 11 a.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at Magnolia Park Cemetery.

The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the staff at Summer's Landing Memory Care unit and Amedisys Hospice for their excellent care, love, and compassion.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made in memory of Ann Devane to Second Baptist Church, 2504 Moody Road, Warner Robins, GA 31088-6159.
