Edward honorably served in the U.S. Military. Further, he retired from the railroad after serving many years as a detective. He resided in Riverton but was in poor health during his latter years and was hospitalized in Urbana when he passed.
His obituary remarked of his joy of family and loving to spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
AN ASIDE: Edward was my second cousin whom I did not know until a few years before his death. We were both into researching "our roots" and he provided me much of his data. We would periodically contact each other as his health declined. His stone is properly inscribed, he WAS "A true friend and a good man".
