Kenny Tipton, 67, of Bagdad, died on Saturday, the 15th day of January, 2022, at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville. Born in Shelbyville on the 18th day of January in 1954, he was the son of the late Billy and Jean Doris Rearden Tipton. In 1982, he married the love of his life, Judy Murphy Tipton, and together they raised three children. A devout Christian, he was vocal about his faith in Jesus. On Good Friday, he could be found carrying a wooden cross through Shelbyville as a reminder of the sacrifices of Christ. Through the years, he carried the cross around most of Kentucky's one hundred and twenty counties.

He took great pleasure in spending his time with his family, caring for his many rescue dogs, working in his garden, and traveling "somewhere warmer." His best stories generally revolved around his upbringing working on dairy and tobacco farms or riding and racing motorcycles. Always up for a good prank, he leaves a legacy of fun and laughter to all who knew him.

A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he is survived by his wife of over thirty-nine years, Judy Tipton of Bagdad; his daughters, Rebekah Tipton-Farina and her husband, Chris, of Portland, Tennessee, and Stacy Tipton of Simpsonville; his son, Zach Tipton of Shelbyville; his brother, Michael Tipton and his wife, Alice, of Graefenburg; his sisters, Patricia Sanford and her husband, David, and Charlotte Hill and her husband, Lynn, all of Shelbyville; and his seven grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, the 19th day of January, 2022, at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Shelbyville, with Pastor Stephen Riley and Pastor Phillip Whitehead officiating. Interment will be in the Cropper Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M., until 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, 18 January 2022, at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Shelbyville. Masks are required. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Sparrow Missions, sparrowmissions.com, Post Office Box 4329, Frankfort, Kentucky 40604, or to Father's Love, 624 Henry Clay Street, Shelbyville, Kentucky 40065.
