Obituary for David Gene Raymond, age 69, of Fort Gratiot, passed away on Friday, March 19, 2021, at McLaren Port Huron Hospital after recent health struggles.
He was born in Chatham, Ontario on December 1951, son of the late William and Lillian (Miller) Raymond.
David married Sharon LaCroix on October 21, 1983.
David was an avid fisherman who loved traveling. He worked for Eugene Welding for over 20 years. David enjoyed deer hunting, his dogs, Gizzy and Molly; and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife Sharon of 37 years is his son Samuel Raymond of Port Huron; grandchildren, Justin and Jaime; brothers, Elroy, Michael, and Robert Raymond; sister-in-law, Barbara Raymond; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
David was preceded in death by his uncle, Fredrick Raymond and his brother, William (Bill) Raymond.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Smith Family Funeral Home-Hancock Street. Funeral services will begin at 4:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Port Huron.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family.
