Swedish actress. She was born "parents uknown" but it has been suggested somewhat reliably that she was one of the extramarital daughters of King Oscar II of Sweden-Norway, her mother being a Stockholm seamstress named Carolina Lovisa Jansson who worked for Queen Sofia. She studied at the Royal Swedish Academy Dramaten 1890–1892, and was subsequently employed by that theater 1892–1904 and at the Swedish Theater 1905–1907. She successfully played Shakespeare's young maidens and elegant ladies of the world, and her roles included Viola in "Twelfth Night", Juliet in "Romeo and Juliet", Beatrice in "Much Ado About Nothing", Cricket, Francillon and Suzanne d'Ange in "Le Demi-Monde" by Dumas. She married actor Nils E. Personne in 1905 and retired from the stage two years later.
