Howard Woods, age 92, passed away on January 17, 2022. Born on June 9, 1929 to the late Logan Woods and Sarah Lucket Woods,

Howard is also preceded in passing by his seven siblings.

Here to carry on his memory is his adoring wife of 65 years, Sue Carol Brown Woods; their children Karen Chasteen, Dennis Woods (Brenda), and Laurie Woods; grandchildren Daniel, Melissa, Katie, Joshua, and Matthew; great-grandchildren Meredith, Taylor, Daniel Howard, Tucker, Logan, Priscilla, and Remington; and a host of extended family and friends.

Growing up Howard bravely went to live at the Masonic Home Orphanage from ages 8 to 18, due to his father's passing and his mother's blindness. At the age of 18, Howard enlisted in the U.S. Marines where he served for two years before he was drafted into the U.S. Army, where he proudly became a decorated Korean War Veteran.

Howard was a life-long member of Evangel Christian Church where he volunteered as an usher. He eventually retired from U.S. Customs as a Customs Inspector. As he got older he found enjoyment from feeding the local animals. Howard was a selfless, giving, patriotic, Godly man that will be deeply missed by everyone in his life.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 from 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road. A funeral service in Howard's honor will take place on Thursday morning at 10:00am at the funeral home with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
