Richard "Dick" D. Brunner, age 84 of Newton passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at his home.

Dick was born on January 31, 1937 to the late David and Agnes (Kalista) Brunner. He married Paula Ziarnik on April 12, 1958 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on February 15, 2012. Dick owned/operated Wetenkamp & Brunner Excavating for most of his career. Dick was well known as an excellent excavator. He was an avid train enthusiast and enjoyed model trains. Dick also enjoyed being outside, cutting grass, and going by his sister to help on the farm when he could.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law: Margaret (Terry) Blashka, Manitowoc; eight grandchildren: Samantha Blashka (fiancé Alan Busse) and their son Garrett; Eric Blashka; Heather Brunner (Joey) and her children: Cody, Connor and Paige; Chris (April) Brunner and their children: Landon, Logan and Mason; Melanie (Jake) Paider; Megan Brunner (Brandon) and their daughter Brynnlee; Tayten Brunner; Grady Brunner; siblings: Ruth (Carol "Squeak") Goehring; Carol (Danny) Mills; Charles Brunner; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: David and Agnes Brunner; wife: Paula Brunner; three sons: Rick Brunner, Ken Brunner, Tim Brunner and other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Pfeffer Funeral Home, 928 S.14th Street, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be Deacon Alan Boeldt. Cremation has occurred at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, and Richard's cremated remains will be buried at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Manitowoc.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday from 9:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am.
