Phyllis Jeanette Snider, formerly of Beaver City, Nebraska, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Good Samaritan Colonial Villa in Alma, Nebraska at the age of 88. Phyllis was born July 29, 1933 in a farmhouse near Orafino, Nebraska to Curtin and Lillian (Summers) Arnold. She attended school at Orafino and Cambridge, graduating with the class of 1951. In 1952, Phyllis married Ivan Snider at Grand Island, Nebraska. Their union was blessed with 6 children, Mary, Ramona 'Monie', Ivan 'Ike', Jody, Vickie, and Todd. Phyllis was a hard worker and took great pride in providing care to the livestock, chickens, and horses on the farm. One of her favorite past times was tending to her enormous garden, paying close attention to each and every plant with the utmost care. Phyllis's family was her number one priority. She absolutely adored her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and was so proud of each of them in their endeavors. When they came to visit her, there was always a home cooked meal, fresh baked goods, and jars of jelly and rhubarb juice. In her later years, Phyllis stayed in touch with her family by calling on birthdays, anniversaries and holidays. She will be missed dearly by all.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant son, Todd Snider; son, Ivan 'Ike' Snider; daughter-in-law, Rhonda (Snider) Becker; grandson-in-law, Troy Tickle; 6 brothers; 2 sisters.
Survivors include her daughters, Mary (John) Weeder of Alma, Monie Burns of Alma, Jody Audet of Castle Rock, CO and Vickie (Tim) Chapman of Edison; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren; 1 step great great granddaughter; sister, Ruth (Darrell) Gregg of Bertrand; sister-in-law (Donna) Arnold of Sun City West, AZ; sister-in-law (Betty) Snider of Kearney, NE. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Lakeside Fellowship in Alma with Pastor Michael Bell officiating. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. at Kearney Cemetery. Berryman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
