Age 81, of Riddle, Oregon, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, due to complication of a stroke with family by his side. He was born March 5, 1933 in Seattle, Washington, to James Robert Bond and Bernita Mildred (Jones) Bond.
James is preceded in death by both parents; two brothers: Bud and Ronnie; and one sister, Roberta (Walsh) Bond. He is survived by his three children: son, Kenny (Cherese); daughters: Roberta (Bobbie); Tony; and Tammi (Joe); one brother, William (Bill); sister, Carol Olmstead; James also leaves behind eight grandchildren 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and lots of nephews and nieces.
James was better known as (double 0) to friends and coworkers. He was a volunteer fireman and also fire chief, in Riddle, for many years. He worked at Fir Manufacturing in Myrtle Creek, Hanna Nickel Mine and Roseburg Forest Product until he retired. James loved a good game of darts; he also enjoyed working in the yard and his roses and lily's.
Dad we will miss your jokes, quick wit, silly antics, goofy presents, your big heart and mostly your big smile and laugh.
Special thanks to THE STAFF at Rosehaven for taken care of our dad. There will be a celebration of life on April 5, 2014 at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Community Building on main street in Riddle.
