Virjean M. "Jeanie" Beckmann, 81, of North Platte died Wednesday January 19, 2022, at Linden Court in North Platte.

Virjean Marie Beckmann was born on November 20, 1940, to Norton and Sophie Irvine of Shelton, NE. She was raised on a farm in Alda, graduated from Grand Island Senior High School and attended Kearney State College. She married Don Beckmann in 1959, moved to North Platte and had three children.

Jeanie had a long career with the North Platte Fire Department and retired in 2007.

She enjoyed hunting, country music, dances and travelling. Jeanie took three trips to Europe, went on cruises, trips to Mexico and Hawaii. She also enjoyed bus trips to destinations across the US.

She is survived by her three children, two grandchildren, four great grandchildren, her brother, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Marlin Irvine and his wife Ann, brother Devon Irvine and his wife Alvera, her sister Gloria Rathman and her husband Gerald; sister-in-law Bonnie Irvine; and nephew, Michael Irvine.

Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery at Grand Island.
