"Ira G. (Glide) Hancock, 82, of 3050 N. 17th, Kansas City, Kansas, died Tuesday at Bethany Medical Center. He was born in Elgin, Kan., and had lived most of his life in Wyandotte County. He retired in 1927 {sic} as a boilermaker for the Darby Corporation, where he had worked for 27 years. Mr. Hancock was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church. He leaves his wife, Ethel Hancock of the home; a brother, Frederick Hancock of 610 E. 83rd; and a sister, Mrs. Mildred Burtard of Denver. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Warnick-Eads-Hilden Chapel; burial in Chapel Hill Cemetery." The Kansas City Times, January 17, 1974
