Joseph Francis Mattingly, 79, passed away Thursday morning, January 20, 2022 at his residence.

Frank was born July 6, 1942, in Lebanon, KY, and retired from Marsh Supermarkets, where he worked for 32 years, volunteer Swim Coach for Yorktown High School for 14 years, a Kentucky Colonel, an Army veteran, and a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church.

Frank was an avid Gardener, UK fan, Civil War History buff, and loved his Bourbon. He was known as the Grandfather of Yorktown Swimming and the old man on the front porch.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ham & Elizabeth Mattingly Sr.; siblings, Bernard Mattingly, Betty Miles, Lawrence Mattingly; and brothersin- law Bill Heath and Charles Miles.

Frank is survived by his wife of 45 years, Kathy Mattingly; 3 sons, Joe Mattingly, Wayne Mattingly (Marsha), Eric Mattingly; daughter, Amanda Marvin (Eric); two sisters Mary Catherine Mattingly and Margaret Chelf (Frank); 3 brothers, Harold (Darlene), Bill (Laura), and Ham Jr (Mary); a sister- in-law, Darlene Heath; 8 grandchildren, Brent Mattingly, Kasee Mattingly, Callie Jo Mattingly, Trenton Mattingly, Evan Mattingly, Chase Mattingly, Toby Marvin and Jaxson Mattingly; and 1 great grandchild, Cora Jane Mattingly.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:15 pm on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church with Father Coady Owens presiding. Burial will follow in Hawk Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the U.S. Army and the Delaware County Veterans Honor Guard.

Friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Mt. Pleasant Chapel, 7901 W. Isanogel Road, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, January 25, 2022.
