Charles Lawrence Oakman, 56, of Roebuck, SC, died Thursday, December 6, 2007, at his home.

Born September 28, 1951, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of Lawrence Oakman, Jr. of Spartanburg and the late Nancy (Thomason) Oakman.

A 1969 graduate of Dorman High School, he was employed with Binswanger Glass in Greenville and was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his father is his wife, Jerri Proffitt Oakman; two sons, Nathan Oakman and his wife Kalin of Roebuck, and Patrick Oakman of the home; a granddaughter, Abby Oakman of Roebuck; and a brother, Tommy Oakman of Spartanburg.

Visitation was 1:00-2:45 PM Sunday, December 9, 2007, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel.

Funeral services followed at 3:00 PM at the Chapel conducted by the Rev. Gideon Long and Mrs. Dee Bowyer. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials could be made to SRMC Hospice Special Needs Fund, 120 Heywood Avenue, Suite 300, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
