Mr. Horecek was a retired teacher of 30 years and Chief Warrant Officer II for the Louisiana National Guard.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, Kristi Mattison and Misty Horacek; and his parents, Louis and Marcella Horacek.

He was survived by his wife, Charlotte Baum Horacek of Colfax; one son, Tommy Rex Garlington, Jr. and wife Kim; two daughters, Melissa Horacek Lucas and husband Rick, and Tammy Edmonds and husband Matt; four brothers, Marion Horacek and wife Jessie, Jerry Horacek and wife Carol, Phil Horacek and wife Liz, and Larry Horacek; and 7 grandchildren.
