Mr. Jon Charles Alford, age 82, of Pendleton, entered this life on March 22, 1939 in Pendleton, Indiana. He was the loving son of the late Murray and Georgianna Flowers Alford. He was raised in Pendleton and graduated from Pendleton High School in 1957. Jon furthered his education by taking classes at a technical college. Jon was united in marriage on June 15, 1958 to Sandra Baltimore at the Pendleton Christian Church. He lived in the Pendleton community his entire life. Jon worked for Johns Manville Insulation Company for 20 years. He then went to work for General Motors in production and retired after 22 years with them. Jon had a strong work ethic so he continued to work after retirement for Falls Park Plaza in maintenance for several years. He also was the town handyman and if anything needed fixed, he was the one to call. Jon loved fishing, volunteering in his church, and lending a helping hand whenever he could. Jon was of the Christian faith and was a member of Pendleton Baptist Church. Jon died on Monday, January 24, 2022, at 9:30 p.m. at the Ascension St. Vincent Anderson Hospital in Anderson, Indiana.

Jon will be missed by his loving wife, Sandra "Sandy" Baltimore Alford of Pendleton, Indiana; his son, Mark Alford and his wife Tammy of West Lafayette, Indiana; his daughter, Patricia "Patty" Darling and her husband Jeff of Hebron, Kentucky; his daughter in law, Jan Clements Alford of Madison, Indiana; his grandchildren,Brandan Alford, Sean Alford and his wife Bailey, Janelle Smith and her husband Deron, Hannah Darling, and Meredith Darling; his great grandchildren, Danica and Daniel Smith; his sister, Peggy Kingery and her husband Mel of Greenfield, Indiana; his sister in laws, Shirley Murphy of Anderson, Indiana, Elke Baltimore of Pendleton, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his father, Murray Alford, died May 25, 1978, his mother, Georgianna Flowers Alford, died June 22, 1999, his infant sister, Annette Alford, his sister, Sherry Shuck and her husband Dewayne, his brothers and sisters in law, Harold Murphy, Barbara and Larry Whitely, and James Baltimore, his father and mother in law, John and Ruby Baltimore, his son, Murray Lee Alford, died August 5, 2019.
FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 28, 2022, at 3:00 p.m., by Pastor Dennis Clark at the Pendleton Baptist Church, 207 Old State Road 132 Pendleton, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Grove Lawn Cemetery in Pendleton, Indiana.
VISITATION
Friends may visit Friday from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at the Pendleton Baptist Church, 207 Old State Road 132 Pendleton, Indiana.
