Betty Abrams of El Cajon and San Diego passed away June 21st, 2014 of Alzheimers, shortly before her 85th birthday. Born in Louisville, Kentucky in 1929, her father Max Stengler, died when she was an infant. She was raised by her mother Doris, and attended to by revered aunts and uncles on both sides of the family. The home in which she grew up was directly across the street from the Abrams residence where a studious boy named Macy lived. They became childhood sweethearts, and were married the moment Macy (a combat veteran) was separated from the Army following WWII. They came West where Macy attended San Diego State College on the GI Bill. Their first son, Marv was born in 1947 and Larry followed in 1959. Betty was a loving mother known for her unbridled devotion to her family. Macy and Betty were world travelers, there are few places on earth where they did not visit at least once. She is survived by her husband Dr. Macy Abrams, two sons: Marv (Ann); Larry (Nolita); four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Graveside service was at Home of Peace Cemetery on Monday, June 23, 2014.
