Karen Becker, 54, of Indian Harbour Beach, died peacefully on Saturday, January 14, 2012. Karen was born June 21, 1957, in Newport, Rhode Island, to Robert and Joan Leydet.

She worked for several years at Ocean Breeze Elementary, and she will be missed by the beachside community. She loved cheering for the University of Florida Gators and University of South Florida Bulls, traveling with her husband, and spending time with her "grand-dogs" Petunia and Rango.
Karen was extremely proud to support her husband through his military career and multiple deployments.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 30 years, Randy; daughter, Andrea Becker; son, Adam Becker; and son Alex Becker and his fiancée Carla Smach.

Viewing hours will be held at Beach Funeral Homes, Melbourne/Suntree, on Monday, January 16 from 7-9 pm with a funeral ceremony on Tuesday, January 17 at 10 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society and designated for lung cancer in Karen's name.
