Mr. Anthony Valentino Borromeo Sr., 84, of two Frontage Road, Gloversville, NY died peacefully on Friday, April 8, 2011 at the Mountain Valley Hospice, Gloversville, NY., surrounded by his loving children. Born on March 15, 1927, in Connersville, Pa., he was the son of the late Frank and Lena Neste Borromeo. He was a resident of Canajoharie for 15 years before residing in Gloversville. He owned and operated Borromeo Trucking in the Bronx for several years and later was employed for local carpenters union 19. Tony was the proprietor of the Lafayette House in Milan, NY., Tony's Alpine Rose in Poughkeepsie, NY., and the Red Rooster Pub, Canjoharie,NY. He is survived by his wife the former Rose Marie Spizzucco whom he married September 28, 1947 in NYC. , he is also survived by his children, Elaine Farris (Gregg) of Staatsburg, NY., Mary Jo Borromeo of Rensselaer, NY., George Borromeo (Karen) of Gleham, NY. and Toni Marie Borromeo of Gloversville. One brother George of Redhook, NY., grandchildren Cherie Anne, John, Mackenzie, Natalie, Janelle, A.J., Alyssa, Anthony T., Anthony C. and great grandchild Katie and loving uncle of several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Anthony Valentino Jr. He was of the catholic faith and a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit of Gloversville. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. His daughters would like to thank the staff of The Mountain Valley Hospice for their wonderful care of their father.
