Neil "Sonny" Winston Fontaine debuted at a Philadelphia night club owned by his mother, Evan-Burrows Fontaine. It was called the Walton Roof atop the Walton Hotel. He was a band leader debuting in 1939, and he remained as the club's master of ceremonies until it closed in 1946. He later moved to Miami and was a singer and bandleader.
