Simon J. Angel, resident of Coal Co. since 1916, He was a barber. died Saturday Jan 13, 1962 Services were held at the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Coalgate at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon Jan 15 by the Rev. Dewey Payne, pastor. Born May 17, 1895, in Madill, I.T., he came to the Centrahoma-Tupelo area, where he was engaged in farming until his retirement a few years ago. Surviving are his wife, Hattie Angel, of Coalgate; daughter, Mrs. Geneva Smith of Tulsa; one son, S.J. Angel, Jr., of Miami, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Glen Smith of Tulsa; and Larry Angel of Miami; three brothers, Wesley Angel of Wapanucka; Tony Angel of Stonewall; and Archie Angel of Tupelo; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Belle Ingram of Tupelo and Mrs. Ruby Dugan of Alma, Ark. A veteran of World War I. Pall bearers were member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, in which organization he was a member. Burial was at Coalgate cemetery under direction of Cooper's Coalgate funeral home.
