He engaged in the hardware business here until 1896, then until 1911 he was in the lumber and realestate business in Missouri and Arkansas.
He returned to Utica,Oh. where his family preceded him in 1899 and here spent the later years of his life among his old friends and associates.
He married on 12/23/1880 to Agnes Reynolds and to this happy union 7 children were born...5 of whom survive...see below.
The end came at 64 years and 3 months and 2 days of age.
He had been in poor health for a condiserable amount of time and for relief he went to the Newark Hospital and submitted to an operation.
For a few days his condition seemed to improve and early recovery was thought to be certain, but on Wednesday of last week he was taken worse and death followed on Thursday evening May 31,1917.
