It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we say farewell to a dear wife, mother and Grandmom.
She was born by the rocks of Cape Tormentine, NB, a beloved daughter of the late Lillian (Allan) and Gessler McGlashing. Mina was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She leaves behind her husband of 74 years, Cecil; sons, Blaine (Maureen), George (Sally), Jeffrey (Pat); daughters, Sally Anne, Jane (Leo), Betty Lea (Larry); fifteen grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.
Mina was predeceased by sons, Blair and Robert; infant daughter, Bonnie Lea; granddaughter, Sarah; brother, George and sisters, Amy, Hazel and Lottie. Mom always said, "My age is just a number and it is unlisted."
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Adams and Joanne, the VON and floor D3 at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.
Family flowers only. Donations may be made to VON Colchester East Hants or St. Andrews United Church –Truro, where she was a member for many years.
Private family service. Burial at a later date in Fernwood Cemetery, Port Elgin, NB. Arrangements have been entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, NS. Live Webcasting of the service will begin at 1:58pm (AST) on Monday, February 7th and is available along with condolences by visiting www.ColchesterCommunity.com
Another Branch has fallen from our family tree,
yet the tree remains standing.
It will heal and grow new branches.
Time will pass, the pain will leave, yet we will
always carry that branch with us in our hearts
