Barbara Jean Waltrip (Boyd) Flanagan passed from this life on January 30, 2022. A public viewing is scheduled at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers from 8:30 am to 10:30 am on Wednesday, February 2, 2022. Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 pm at Morton Memorial Cemetery. All are invited to share memories and expressions of sympathy and view Barbara's life tribute on this page.

Barbara was born on November 6th, 1940 to W.J. and Edna Waltrip of Morton, Texas. Barbara graduated from Morton High School in 1958 and later received an Associate degree in accounting in 1985.

On June 10th, 1962, Barbara married Hubert Donald Boyd in Morton, Texas at First United Methodist Church. They remained married until his death in 2018. During Don's Air Force career, Barbara enjoyed living in many different areas, including a year in Taichung, Taiwan. Don and Barbara returned to Lubbock in 1980, where Barbara worked as Office Manager of O&A TexPack for 26 years until her retirement in 2006. Barbara was a faithful member of Monterey Church of Christ for over 40 years. She served at many church functions and volunteered her time at Lubbock Meals on Wheels and Hope Lodge among many others.

On February 14th, 2019, Barbara married her high school sweetheart Clayton Flanagan in Lubbock, Texas. They purchased a travel trailer and realized their dream of touring the country by embarking on a 72-day travel adventure that stretched from Texas to Oregon.

Barbara was truly a blessing to all that she met. Her enthusiasm for life, optimism, and laughter always brought joy to her family and friends. Even in her 80's, Barbara could outwork and outlaugh anyone around her. She was loved by all and will truly be missed.

Survivors include her husband, Clayton Flanagan; children, Bridget Ann Eubanks and husband Bill; Rebecca Don Ewings; Clay Flanagan and wife Nancy, Michael Flanagan and wife April; grandchildren, Trey and Tyler Eubanks; and Blake and Erin Ewings; John and wife Hannah, Sarah, Travis and wife Tess, Trent and wife Abby Flanagan; Tori and Johnny White; Great-grandchildren Canon and Asher Flanagan; and Cayden White.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Hubert Donald Boyd, and her parents, W.J. and Edna Waltrip.
