OBITUARY: Durant Daily Democrat, Durant, Oklahoma, 19 Dec. 2006: Juanita Mullens Beal, 79
A service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday for Juanita Beal, 79, Mead, who died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2006, at a residence in Katy, Texas. Bill Ledbetter will officiate.
The daughter of Alvin Floid and Virgie Alice Stacy Mullens, she was born Tuesday, Aug. 2, 1927, in Dallas, Texas.
She first came to Oklahoma when as an infant with her parents and lived on the family farm in Cobb. She married Gibson Beal Jr. on April 4, 1944, in Durant.
Mrs. Beal left Oklahoma and lived in Dallas in 1955 with her husband Gibson after World War II. In 1957, she moved to southern California. She and her family moved to Bryan County in 1966 to live in Durant.
Since that time, she and her family lived in Bennington and then Mead. She was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church. She enjoyed genealogy, sewing and reading. She was a computer enthusiast, enjoyed puzzle books, jigsaw puzzles and crocheting. She was a homemaker.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband and a daughter Juana June Wilson.
Survivors include sons Chip Beal, Superior, Wisc., Steven Beal, Bonner Springs, Kan.; grandsons Tracy Maddox, Mead, Stacey Purcell, Tyler, Texas, Shannon Beal, Shawnee, Kan., Casey Beal, Basehor, Kan., Matthew Beal, Proctor, Minn., and Jonathan Beal, Duluth, Minn.; granddaughters Shelly Kemp, Katy, Melanie Dunavant, Nashville, Tenn., Jennifer Beal and Courtney Beal, both of Proctor, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Burial will be in Restland Cemetery, Silo, with Stacy Percell, Tracy Maddox, Shannon Beal, Casey Beal, Matthew Beal and Daniel Dunavant serving as pallbearers.
